The Quirkiest Coffee Shops in Doha
If there’s one thing we love to do in this country, it’s mindlessly spend hours crawling through a motley of incredible coffee shops in Doha. And the coffee culture has massively evolved, so in a surprising turn of events, we’ve even started carefully researching, meticulously planning and systematically implementing every single visit to all of these coffee shops in Doha.
With this huge leap forward the coffee scene, we’re inclined to now pick the quirkiest ones (at least for those of us who really trying new things) for our daily dose of liquid gold.
So we’ve done all the hard work for you, and singled out our favourite quirky, creative coffee shops in Doha. Although, most of them are great for a nice cup of coffee, only a handful offer something more. These caffeine destinations are filled with excitement, vibrancy, innovative interiors, creative concepts, attention to detail and a few other things.
So, dear readers, we present to you the best, most quirkiest, unusual or unique (whatever you like to call it) coffee shops in Doha.
Quirkiest coffee shops in Doha
Volume Cafe
Situated in the picturesque Qanat Quartier next to the Rialto Bridge, offering Venetian vibes that go hand-in-hand with a nice cup of coffee and honey cake, is the brilliant Volume Café. Inside, on the second floor, you’re immediately transported into a different world, one that features a library-like ambience with bookshelves (and books in them obviously). The menu is modest and filled with tasty choices that will truly delight you. Try the mushroom eggs Benedict (just trust us on this one).
Rosemary Cafe
It’s not possible to go to Al Hazm Mall and miss this gem. Hundreds of roses hug you from every corner. Elegant decor and impeccable service are just a few of the highlights. The desserts are not just tasty, but extremely Instagrammable as well. Besides, if it’s not on Instagram, did it really even happen? Rosemary Café did and the good news is, it’s here to stay (that’s the hope anyway)
Upside Down Cafe
This is a familiar global concept and we’re glad it’s been perfectly executed in Doha. A lot of effort has gone into the design and as the name implies, everything is upside down. From the chairs and tables on the ceiling, to the serving cups, this is definitely one of the coffee shops in Doha that needs to be tried to be believed. The photos don’t do it justice!
Cue
The first impression when you visit is “wow”. The carefully selected colour palette, subtle cloud decoration and elegant crockery leave very little to desire. There are a lot of options for healthy eaters and those with a sweet tooth (like us). Every time we go here, our friends immediately confiscate our phones in the event that a casual coffee meet up turns into a full-fledged photoshoot.
Flat 77
Have you ever felt like you want to go out for coffee, but you don’t want to get ready and loose the comfort of your home? Have you ever wanted to just go out and grab a cuppa but skip the process of getting dressed up and more so even leaving the cosy comforts of your home? The good news is we’ve found a spot where you absolutely don’t have to compromise on homely comforts or moderately ugly PJs for a good cup of coffee. As soon as you enter Flat 77, you’ll be overcome with a wave of casual, homely vibes, friendly staff and a sofa with a TV and a PlayStation. That sofa, dear reader, is all yours. You want to take a nap? Go ahead. You want to watch Netflix and sip on your favourite hot beverage? More than welcome. Do whatever pleases you (but please don’t wear those ugly home PJs). How about hanging out with your group of friends and playing Monopoly? The possibilities are endless!
Social Coffee
Situated on the top floor of a building in Lusail city offering aerial views of this up and coming area, this mix-style cafe is one of our favourite indoor-outdoor concepts. The interior is a mix of contemporary and industrial and the walls are covered with modern art.. When you step outside on the terrace, it’s completely different story. Boho style furniture and decor, lush greenery and a fire pit are immediately eye-catching. Yes, you read that right, there’s a fire pit in Doha. The choice of music is a bit specific, but if you can go over that, this cafe should definitely be on your agenda. And yourInstagram stories.
Sadu
Sadu is one of those spots that guarantees multiple comments and likes as soon as it hits your Instagram feed (tried and tested, friends). Its super cute boho-interior infused with Qatari heritage elements is just a feast for the eyes. The name Sadu refers to an old Bedouin tent used for lodging in the desert. Although situated in a modern building, as soon as you enter, you immediately get a blast from the Qatari past. Old meets new in a really subtle and non-obtrusive way and you can experience that in the interiors as well as the food. Most of the dishes have a Qatari twist. And that makes it very special. You’ll find a handcrafted market area selling handmade jewellery, clothes and decor from local artists. Try the Herbs Egg Ejja, Hummus with Spinach and the Dates and Banana Toast. Thank us later.
Halo Cafe
We don’t want to sound judgemental but we’d be honestly surprised if you live in Doha and haven’t heard of Halo Café. In fact, scratch that, we will most certainly judge you. But there’s time to fix that. Their slogan is “You had me at Halo”, and it was indeed love at first sight. From cronuts (the love child between the croissant and donut) to softies served on half avocadoes and mangoes, if you’re into desserts it’s time to change your address. Everything is visually brilliant, Insta-worthy and absolutely delicious. Just keep it coming Halo, keep it coming!
